SCHEDULE for Romeo and Juliet Project, Quizzes, and Tests

Schedule:
Thursday, April 22 – Periods 1 and 3 will view film clips about RJ. Periods 2 and 5 will take a comprehension check on video clip viewing.
Start reading RJ. Begin with all summaries from each act and scene. Annotate your copy of the ACT. Find examples of literary terms, characterization, setting, plot element, etc. Use post-its on paper.
Friday, April 23 – Today, you will continue reading with your group. Prepare summaries for each scene in the ACT you are reporting to the class. Reporting begins Tuesday, May 4.
Monday, April 26 – Quiz and reading day.
Tuesday, April 27 – Group work. Reading and annotating of each act
Wednesday, April 28 – Small group work and big class discussion.
Thursday, April 29 – Small group work and planning. Big class discussion.
Friday, April 30 – Small group planning. Preparation of materials for group presentations next week

Monday, May 3 – Quiz day and project preparation.
Tuesday, May 4 – Group 1 presentation of Act I and their project
Wednesday, May 5 – Group 2 presentation of Act II and their project
Thursday, May 6 – Group 3 presentation of Act III and their project
Friday, May 7 – Group 4 presentation of Act IV and their project

Monday, May 10 – Group 5 presentation of Act V and their project
Tuesday, May 11 – Review of RJ to prepare for unit test
Wednesday, May 12 – Unit test
Thursday, May 13 – Review for final exam.
Friday, May 14 – All classes bring a Renaissance type of food and come in Renaissance attire.


Monday, May 17 - Final Exam Essay
May 18, 19, 20, 21 – Grammar and review days and final wrapping up of activities.

View the Romeo and Juliet video on the blog on Tuesday. Comprehension check on Thursday, April 23 (NOTE: If the video cannot be viewed, we will view it in the classroom.)
GROUP PROJECT: Due on May 10 for presentation

Activities
Monday
We will finish the film viewing of Great Expectations today and discuss loopholes.

Tuesday
Today, you will take a very long quiz covering vocabulary #s 624-643 and Chapters 17-29 of GE. Tonight, view the RJ videos on the blog. There will be a viewing check on Thursday, April 22.

Wednesday
We begin our Romeo and Juliet Unit today by watching the performance in the auditorium beginning at 10:15 right after advocacy.

Thursday
I will give you a comprehension check for viewing the videos online. Then, we will read the play while listening to an audio cd.

Friday
We will continue reading RJ.

Homework:
RJ #s 624-644 due – April 15
GE Study guide questions for chapters 16-29 due April 16

Extra credit: View and comment on the three videos posted on the blog pertaining to Imagery in GE, Impact of Dickens' writing on Debtor's prison, and the Ambiguity of the ending in GE. Responses have to be in complete sentences. Bullet each video clearly before the comment. This extra credit work is only for this week. All comments from today until Sunday will be credited.

Monday
Today we will discuss chapters 16-29. I will give the quiz for these chapters tomorrow, April 13.

Tuesday
Quiz #12 will be given today and after the quiz today, if time permits, I will show not only stage 3 of novel, but we will start from the beginning. Study questions should be answered continuously.

Wednesday
Today, we will continue with the film viewing and have discussions in between. Clarify all throughout the film viewing.

Thursday
Vocabulary assignment will be picked up and we will continue with film viewing.

Friday
Let us go over poetic devices and allusions today.

Prepare for MOnday's quiz covering the vocabulary words for this week and chapters 17-29 of GE.
