: The Odyssey by Homer

- "What is A Myth?" activity - due: Oct 5, Tuesday ("What is a Myth?" article can be found below.)
- "Creation"/"How Evil Came Into the World" activities - due: Oct 7, Wednesday

Tuesday
1. Review prepositional phrase, adjective, and adverb.
2. Identify parts of a sentence and the prepositional phrase as adjective or adverb. Use the phrase toolbox in your binder.

Wednesday
1. Go over "What is a Myth?" activity.
2. Read "Creation" and answer the activity.
3. Read "How Evil Came into the World" and do the activity for homework.

Thursday
1. Go over "How Evil..." activity.
2. Learn academic vocabulary: demonstrate, emphasis, ideology, monitor, and undertake and work on an activity.
3. Identify CHARACTERISTICS of an EPIC: epic, epic hero, epic setting, archetypes, aand epic themes.

Friday
BENCHMARK test
1. Identify and analyze elements of Homer's language: simile, epic simile, epithet, and allusion. - postponed to Monday after quiz.
2. Identify and analyze different ways to read Homer's Odyssey: as a narrative, as poetry, and as a reflection of its time. - postponed to Monday after quiz

  4. hey ms terry.
    im really confused. i guess i missed so many days i got lost trying to make everything up. tomorrow is the scarlet ibis vocab. due tomorrow or is the necklace because i just finished reading and doing the necklace vocab and have not even read the scarlet ibis yet.
    p.s. i am ready to take the test tomorrow and will come tomorrow.

  5. I apologize for not seeing the comments. For things missed due to absences, log in to GradeSpeed and check what activities are already entered for a grade. For other activities, check the blog list of lessons/activities. Obviously, it is the vocabulary HOMEWORK that can be done at home.
