Literature: Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Grammar: Phrases (prepostional, appositive, infinitive, gerund, and participial) - review
Vocabulary: #s 524-543 - audacity, felicitous, morose, omnipotent, ravenous, remonstrate, sagacious, consternation, vicarious, imprecation, profound, commiserate, apprhension, execrate, grovel, render, erudition, ablution, discomfit, and testy

Homework:
- Vocabulary SAT notes - Due every Thursday
- Charles Dickens webquest activity - due Wednesday, Jan. 5
- Old notes and graded assignments from the fall semester should be placed in a Manila envelope. Due - on or before Jan. 7

1. Discuss course outline for spring semester.
2. Sign and submit semestral contract.
3. Copy/note this week's vocabulary words, review format, and blog resource. Receive vocabulary packet.

2. Read "Fragments of an Autobiography" by Charles Dickens.

Thursday
1. Check vocabulary notebooks and binder tabs.
2. Review phrases and write sentences using vocabulary words with grammatical components.
3. Receive reading guide to Great Expectations.

Friday
1. Begin reading Great Expectations.
2. Answer questions in reading guide.
2. Go over answers to reading guide.
2. Continue reading.
